it was all going so well .....

We bought ceiling fans in the UK with remote controls and I fitted them with no problems.  All was going well when we had a power cut .    The light in the fan had been off but when the power came back on the remote system decided to turn the light on.   is that normal for Turkish sourced ceiling fans or is it just that I brought UK units

We were wondering the same thing, our lights/fans came from turkey and indeed it seems to be the norm for this type of equipment. Our light units are westinghouse perhaps this is a way of telling us the power cut is over[?]

With remote controls fans default to on after a power cut.
