On Sunday a former (out of town) nightclub near us was set ablaze and fairly well destroyed. I know the owner who had been telling me that since she closed it 3 years ago they have been plauged with break ins and the police having done nothing.
More recently thieves had stripped out copper wires and tubing and anything else they could rip out and again the police did nothing. On Sunday afternoon the owners went along to check on the place and found that there were people in the building.
The police were called in an emergency and as a result officers were on scene. Having looked in they then announced that due to health and safety regulations they did not wish to enter the building and promptly left. By 6pm the place was ablaze and fire services spent the whole night trying to bring the blaze under control.
Today it is reported that the police suspect arson and are appealing for witnesses!!
