I hate when people recline their seat, try having a baby on your knee when someone reclines their seats! Im a wimp and ask the stewardess to tell them to put it back upright lol

If its a short haul flight below 2 hours then I never recline as I am usually working on the laptop but when going long haul and I am in the same seat for 6 hours plus then I am going to recline it. That is what the recline button is there for. Then again as I said before, most times its a bucket seat or flat bed so there is nobody behind to annoy.
What I find more annoying is those idiots that get up from their seats to get their bags and walk to the front of the plane when the plane has just touched the runway.

I suspect the recline button was invented before the sardine technique was implemented.  You should either have reclinable seats OR sardine technique.  Not both.  I would venture to suggest that if you are on a flight where "bucket seats or flat bed" are available, there will be a considerable amount more legroom than on a Thomas Cook flight, and therefore reclining wont be an issue.

I never recline mine, if someone in front does they certainly have an uncomfortable flight.

As Starman says - long haul you are going to recline. It's a no brainer when you are on an 11 hour flight and need some shut eye.

Never there is no room as it is without having someones headrest in your lap.  Should defo be fixed seats unless long haul and seats that have more leg room.

This is what short haul needs - OK maybe not the entertainment system but it would be nice  :)

I never recline my seat out of consideration for the person behind as I know how irritating it can be to have a stranger almost in your lap, though I almost always end up behind a "recliner".  When we flew to Turkey last Saturday evening, the guy in front reclined his seat almost as soon as we were in the air.  :(

I was reading a book which was on the tray in front of me. As he reclined, the tray came towards me and was touching my stomach!  (I'm a size 12-14, height 5'2", so not exactly huge.)  On some of these cramped planes with hardly any legroom, how do bigger/taller people manage?  By the way, our seats were by the exit and fixed in position, so we were unable to recline our seats to give us a bit more room even if we had wanted to.   :o

Same airline coming home last night (the dreaded Onur Air   :-\ ) but it was a newer plane with more legroom, and the person in front remained in the upright position.  A much nicer ride home!   :)
