The VIP lounge is better value than buying at the food outlets if you are going to have a few coffees, some food and want somewhere to sit comfortably. Still expensive for  the standard of services provided though.

think most of the people who do buy at the airport are mostly tourists who are trying to use up their last liras. My son had a few lira left and used them to buy a McD's (could have left them with me to look after ;))

I checked their price list on my way back home last night...

0.5L Efes = 15TL
Gordons Gin (single) = 18TL (tonic extra).

Needless to say there are signs up saying they take credit cards !

I'd love to know what ATM charge for the franchises at Dalaman airport, perhaps this dictates some of the ridiculous prices.I'm just amazed that people stand for it, they'd really kick off if thta happened at Gatwick, Manchester, Birmingham etc. These latter day Dick Turpins would go broke in no time at all.

I couldn't believe the amount of people in that bar last monday! We went into the lounge but what a load of crap there wasn't a single thing I would eat, they only had sweet biscuits, the food was garbage. I ended up with a can of cherry juice for what £17? Never again

Could we start the petition up again I am up for it or is it a waste of time, (look at our dolphin sucess though :)) it is ridiculous and I am sure there was a scam going on there two weeks ago with the rep going round saying a burger fries and a drink was 10 lira if you were an Onur Air passenger, well it wasn't it was "lady lady normal price" :( I was at hospital last week and my lovely doc was trying to keep me occupied so I was not worrying whilst I had a test done, he was chatting about flying and airports nearly fell off his chair when I told him about the prices at Dalaman in comparison to Gatwick, we have it good at Gatwick really MacDonalds normal price and two decent size waters at boots for just under £2 :)

I managed to get the Daily Mirror to publicise our petition and they did a good job of it. Truth is, thousands of us can complain but while there are enough idiots paying eleven quid for a Big Mac Meal and 15 lira for 500ml (less than a pint) of Efes, the airport and the outlets are happy for it to continue. They were contacted directly and didn't even reply, let alone try to justify it. Dalaman Airport cares about Dalaman Airport, they don't have any worries about how people feel after a having a great week or fortnight's holiday, only to get shafted in their last hour or so in Turkey.

The last transaction will be the most memorable one, but don't expect the airport bosses to give a monkey's...

Can only agree with all the replies on this topic, last year was our first visit to Calis and we were shocked at the food outlet prices on our return to the uk, however it didnt put us off and we"ve booked to go there again in august but will be better prepared when we get our flights home, will be stocking up with butties, crisps etc

Dont forget for the people that are staying in hotels and are not able to make their own butties, Pies and Pastries down by Scarletts Bar do a range of take out food I am sure I have read on here that they do sandwiches for anyone needing them for the airport all reasonably priced stuff there, and their cakes are gorgeous :)
