Surely we have heard all this before ? I would like to know how much the airport owner/authority charges for the doubtful priviledge of running a food and drink outlet and still make a fair and reasonable profit. I'm pretty sure that there lies the problem.

I had a lovely simple snack made for me, packet of cheese biscuits with 2 tubs of soft cheese, a knife to spread it with, a napkin. Nothing to stop you adding some fruit to that & you have more than ample snack to keep you going & if you eat it before you go through the 2nd check you can even take your own drink!

Being a good Yorkshire lass, I always take more food than I will need, that way, if I have a major flight delay, I still don't have to pay those ridiculous prices.

We are members of Airport Angels and always use the VIP Lounge at Dalaman.  This time I had a lovely roast chicken salad, there were lots of pastries, biscuits etc., as well as the self service cold salads.  Also had coffee and juice. The only thing that annoyed us this year was, as we signed in the girl informed us "Maximum Two Hours Stay".  I am going to complaint to Angels about this, as we have never had this information before, and if there was a delay I assume we would be kicked out after our allotted time.

Yes Jacqui we have been kicked out before after 2 hours! Have never seen chicken salad, in fact I have never seen anything I could eat as I am not fond of sweet things and that's all they ever have when we go.

If you don't see it ask for it.  Last year we were really hungry and I asked the girl for "hot" food.  She made a phone call and a guy arrived with chicken and chips, in fact there was enough for about 6 people.  This year I was not hungry for hot food, but I thought the salad spread was really nice, lots of tuna, feta cheese, roast chicken, olives, onions, tomatoes etc.,  All freshly made.  If there had of been no choice, again I would have asked.  ;)

On our return to Blighty last year, Lorraine & I looked for the so-called "V.I.P". Lounge. There no such thing at Dalaman Airport. We did manage to find the Premium Lounge however, we were invited inside, had a look around, and very quickly decided against eating in there. I'm afraid that we set our own personal standards a lot higher than what seemed to be available, ( or not), in said "Premium Lounge".
Absolute rubbish!! It is certainly a very poor "cousin" of Turkeys' famous  "in resort" hospitality.

Update on our visit to the CIP Lounge.  I complained to Airport Angels and had an email back apologising they are going to contact the lounge about the 2 hour limit.  They have also refunded one credit to our account because of my complaint.  Good service I would say.  I hope other members of the Angels will complaint too.

Gordon we have used many lounges in the past, as I am sure you have too.  I would say the B.A. Lounge at Heathrow is high on the list of good lounges, do you agree?  However, with no alternative at Dalaman, using this lounge is a no brainer for us.  Better to sit in comfort, peace and quiet and have some food and soft drinks without paying exhorbitant prices.
