During the search last night we were told that one of these horses was the subject of a discussion that took place in the Grapes at the weekend.
We understand that it was said that the young foal was seen being led through the village by what was described as Gypsy's.
Can anyone confirm this is true.
Does anyone know of any Gypsy camps in the Uzumlu area.
If anyone can verify this, please contact Christine URGENTLY.

(I know that this is hearsay but if it is true it may help find them.)

I think if there was any discussion in the Grapes ,someone would after all the publicity made it known ,it was one of the first places that I asked if they had heard or seen any thing .

I did think that but i thought it was worth a try putting on the forum because the gentleman who told me did seem genuine.
Mike has just been speaking to him again this morning and he says that someone in the Grapes  definetly said that a gypsy type person was seen going through the village with a small horse

The horses were seen on their own in Kizilbel on Sunday - I specifically asked if anyone was with them.  Someone turfed them out of a field there.  I don't think local people (even 'Gypsies') would see any use or value in horses like that - more likely they'd be seen as a nuisance when they got into their fields.  If anyone is following the above map, note that Kizilbel and Sögütlüdere, and Yürek and Siyamlar, are connected by roads(bad ones...)  And I'm not quite sure where this Güneşli place is.

Horses seen two days ago in Yayla Koru Koy, Chris and I are  going to head over that way tomorrow at 7am. We seem to be 2 days behind them again. Will update after that search tomorrow. So Gypsy story seems highly unlikely. Three different people gave us the info re recent sightings and could describe them perfectly.

Well, back from my microlight flight, flew direct from Ovacik over the mountains into Uzumlu then gained a bit more height and over the mountains again towards Kizibel then flew north up the valley doing many circles and then working our way back down the valley in the Kemer direction, unfortunately no sight of them:(had we had tonights info we maybe should have flown further north, but light fading we had to return to base, I took several photos whilst up there for landmarks in case we had to give directions on finding them.
This will give you an idea of the view we had from 2,000 feet up.

as you can see well worth using the microlight, if we get more precise details maybe someone else would like to give it a try, it cost me £100 for one and a half hours, well worth the experience,
I will put an advert on here for Gustav he was excellent and very helpful.

Anyways..onwards and upwards :)
