Christine & Eric

I'm sure they will be found.  Just keep on looking and DON'T give up hope.  After a few days the mare will tire of her freedom and want some home comforts again.
I wish we were there to help you.
Good Luck tomorrow.

If they're still in Koru they'll be found because just about everyone has been told.  If they've continued onwards, then they're either in Nif or up on the mountain-tops, both of which are quite wide areas.  I think making sure local people know, especially shepherds and muhtars (and the owners of fields that might get invaded) is the best approach.

Is there anbody out there in Uzumlu that is willing to either lend us, or drive for us, a 4x4 so that we can reach the top of Yayla Koru by the back route?
We struggled to reach the top in our Ford so a 4x4 would be the ideal vehicle to get us up there.
PLEASE HELP if you can.

Sue & Mike

Just back from an epic and most frustrating search. En route met my friend's father in law who told us they had gone up to the Yayla this morning. We had planned to go up there last night, but fading light and info from a shepherd saying there had been no sign of them there put us off. So that was our game plan today, our guide insisted that we go and do a  sweep of the other area first and against our better judgement we did, but no sign. Then we went up the Yayla in Eric's jeep - he has nerves of steel that guy - we met another shepherd who confirmed that they had walked up that way, then we reached the end of the road and met a lovely shepherd who said he had just chased them off his garden 1 hour previously, Drat. Eric and Cemre (from Selale) went on foot over the mountain to the next yayla and did a thorough search but no sign of them again. Sounds like the microlite would do well here, no trees, they would easily  be spotted/spooked by the plane. How high can they go? Andy please contact Christine for further info and game plan. So near and yet so far. [xx(]

Its so frustrating, so close to finding them Rosie[:(.
We went up the back way last night after speaking to an old man in Kizebel who said he had chased them off his land a few days before he mentioned the village Yala so we went that way and carried on till it started to dark.We spoke to a family between Sogutlu and Yayla but sadly they had not seen them. The road was quite bad and with fading light we turned back.
Ertan has been to see us today, his wifes brother has family in Yayla and he told Ertan that english people had been asking about the horses and they had been seen again this morning which Christine already new but he said all the shepherds  were looking out for them . Ertans brother has said he will go with us tomorrow evening as he knows the area  well. Lets just hope they are found very soon. I cannot believe how far they have travelled in this heat . Ertan says they are heading for high ground as it is much cooler and that they are very clever animals- they are indeed. .

Pete and Eric going up there tonight, Andy. they are planning to camp overnight and walk the Yayla to night and first thing in the morning. Looks like the horses are doing what sensible horses should and that is staying as cool as they can in this heat. They are eating well according to local farmers, shepherds and gardeners  who tell us they are eating the best of their produce. Good luck everyone, fingers crossed that you find them. :)
