Magnificent community spirit shown in someone's hour of need - a complete stranger to some volunteers - absolutely heart warming stuff. Well done to everyone who answered the call, and best wishes to Christine, finally you can stop worrying  :)

Great!  I'm so happy they've been found.  But what a thing for a horse to do, to find its way all the way from Üzümlü to the top of the mountains!  I wonder what physical/mental condition they were in?

Lovely to finally meet these two runaways. Thanks to the Jendarma and the shepherds on the Yayla for finally finding them. A smiling Christine was last spotted on the road walking the ponies with her entourage, whilst Eric rushed back for the trailer. Horses looked well and happy after their adventure holiday. Let's see if they are prepared to stay and rest until their owners return. If they do run again we know where they are headed. This was a wonderful experience for me in the locals willingness to join forces with us to find them. Have loved the meals I have had with people who were strangers yesterday and  are friends today. Drinking warm goats milk in the shepherds hut was a first for me.Photos will be on facebook later. Hopefully one of my FB friends can put them on here too. So happy, congratulations Chris and Eric and your stalwarts.

A truly amazing end to a worrying start,it never ceases to amaze me the spirit of CBF members, just a huge family....
Also just goes to show how one day you dont know someone and then the next they have played a huge part in your life, incredible.

But well done one and all....x

Hi all, sorry for the very late posting.  We have just finished putting our 2 boys (Merlin & Dervish) to bed. Making a temp stable for Lulu and a second stable for the Ponies (Little Star & Pegasus).  What a day we have had.

We would like to say such a very big thank you to all on CBF.  To all the people that we have never met until last week..its great to put a face to all the names on here, all that came and helped us out. We would not have been able to do this on our own..!!!

We would like to organise a get together here in Uzumlu and have a beer etc with you all. We will post the date and meeting place soon.

We would like to say a very big thank you to our Turkish friends too...: Senar at the Winehouse, Cemra and her dad. Arican Mobiliya. The Uzumlu Jandarma, Orman staff and the Uzumlu Belediyesi.

All made this possible.

After going to the summer pasture above Yayla Koru Koyu on 2 occasions Eric is applying for 4x4 driver of the year and a mountain goat badge.
