Does anyone have any connections with Hotel Remer?
« on: July 28, 2011, 21:35:09 PM »
When we were on holiday in June, we won a quiz at this hotel. The prize was a week's holiday there for next May or October. It was organised by the bar which although part of the hotel is actually run seperately I think? Anyway it was Izzy and a Scottish woman called Jane who did it - Jane promptly left the following week!

We enquired about our prize before we left and were given the hotel's email address. I've emailed but no response.

I know it's unlikely that we will actually get our prize but just thought I'd ask if anyone knew anyone at the hotel who might be able to help...was looking forward to an extra holiday!!

The good news Jasmine, is that the price of hotel rooms in May or October will  be 'cheap as chips' Its the flight that you will have to pay for.

I was speaking to a girl in Hisaronu.  She told me she had been coming on Holiday there usually in May or June for the last 20 years and that for the last five years she got a week free in October in her Hotel.  She explained that her Hotel had a bingo night at a cost of £5.00.  If you won the Bingo you got a free week in October.  I asked her did she win, she said she had won it for a couple of years, but it did not matter as if you bought five tickets you got a free week anyway!!
I suppose it's a good way to fill the rooms  in October and if the prize is only for one person, you will buy or try to win a second free week for a friend or partner.

Hi Jasmine, my name is NOT Jane, it's Rachel and I was at the Remer at the time you won the prize.  I had been asked to take care of the customer service side of the hotel.  I was told that they would arrange all permits, pay for my accommodation and give me 750 ytl per month.  Everyone was delighted with the service which I provided as they felt that having a native English speaking person was an asset to the hotel.  When I asked for my money I kept getting the "after tomorrow" synario.  After six weeks I asked again and was told that Ramazan Dinc the so called owner wanted ME to pay him for my being there!  Needless to say we parted comapny.  I went to the hotel to say goodbye to some guests and was thrown out by Izzy the barman who threatened to "kill" me if I came back to the hotel. Needless to say when my son went there shortly after, I went and met him at the hotel, although I did not spend any time there. At the time of writin, I am still alive - ha ha ha! The hotel is nice, the staff apart from the owner and the bar staff are lovely.  There will be HUGE changes next year!  I am still on friendly terms with most of the staff including Ramazan the MANAGER (Rambo).  I am happy to speak to them about your prize.  Exactly when did you want to go to the Remer?  You can contact me via the Forum or if you can give me a contact e-mail address or telephone number I am happy to help you.
