Travel ins pre exist meds and age cheapest
« on: September 02, 2011, 18:46:35 PM »
I am just going through the list of travel insurance companies for people with pre existing medical conditions and others where age over 65.

So far I have got the best quote from the flexi cover direct.  pre-existing is currently showing at £50-£65 (for 2 persons)  for a single trip covering up to 42 days.

This is from money supermarket.com

http://www.moneysupermarket.com/c/travel-insurance/pre-existing/medical/conditions/

After reading the post of Colwyn's experience and the cost thought I would check up on our cover.

Sorry loz you are correct Diabetes is well covered and the cover is good, we need 60 to 90 day cover and FCD is a max 50 days for over 65. Will have to stay with Aviva. Our cover quote £295 multi trip with FCD 50 days. £273 single trip 90 days Aviva £320 multi trip for the longer stays. Agree the cover and prices quoted for stay periods available as standard are very good indeed for the over 65.

We do the search each year for the multi trip pre existing meds 60/90 days. can anyone on the forum tell us if we are missing a trick?

goodtogoinsurance we have tried a quote over 65 multi trip not available. Single trip is very well priced with excellent cover and would be good in our case for two trips the third makes it still Aviva for us.
There is somthing for all. Good luck with the reserch, we will try again 2012 all being well!!

Not sure if this is any help, we have used Direct Travel insurance for our cover which was £150 for a Joint Annual Worldwide multi trip policy for 2 adults:
1 - 48 with asthma (though just use an inhaler to help breathlessness not had any asthma attacks etc)& Nasal / sinus polyps for which Steroid medication is used
1 - 51 on medication for blood pressure & cholestoral
Who said getting older was fun!!!:D

Hi
We use Direct Travel Insurance, They are Great.
Husband Insulin Dependant, and Son cerebral Palsy Plus Epilepsy.

We are not allowed a annual Policy because of sons Epilepsy, so we always get single trip Insurance each time we travel.
The last trip to Turkey was in May This Year for a week, and they charged 38.00 pound for the three of us .totally covered good value we have found also columbus are good as well.
