As John says she's becoming quite confident and affectionate already. She had a real hangdog expression 3 days ago, head down, tail underneath but she's definitely feeling more secure, head and ears are up, and her tail is up high when we take her out now.
We think she was probably kept outside and given very little attention, she's just started to come to us to be stroked, but has taken a lot of encouragement to learn that she can be loved.
I think she must have been fed outside, she still hasn't ventured into the kitchen even though its open plan, but will now eat her food in the lounge. She's made no attempt to go upstairs and doesn't bark or whine, even when other dogs are barking.
She walks really well on the lead, we don't think she was a street dog as she's in lovely condition and is very clean and obviously used to the lead.
She's a real sweetie and isn't taking a lot of notice of our cats unless they go near her food!
She was found near the old peoples home, so if anyone has any idea who she belongs to please let us know as its possible they may be worried.
She will ultimately make a lovely pet and there's no way we will feel comfortable putting her back on the street where she was found, she deserves lots of love and cuddles.
We think she probably is a whippet/ greyhound cross, possibly a bit of beagle/ terrier/ labrador thrown in!
We're trying to teach her to play with a ball, not the least bit interested yet, but we will keep trying!
If anyone is interested in re homing her, or would like to know more please contact me or John or Andy
