Our Joanne and Paul got their Certificate of None Impediment from the local registrar in the UK. The wedding planner at Sugar Beach then arranged the Antalya trip and other formalities in Fethiye.

Some may be interested to know that Harun at Surf Cafe told me today that they are having their first ever wedding tomorrow. In this instance it is just the wedding feast but he is planning to introduce the full sevice and reception package  8)

My wife and I did this in July.
We had help in Turkey from our Friend Ali Bozkurt.
We got the certififcate of no impediment from our local registry office in the UK. Do not do this more than a few months before your planned wedding date as if it's old I don't think they will accept it.
Then when you get to Turkey you need to get to the consulate in Antalya ASAP. I think it takes around three hours or so to drive there and it's quite hidden away. Once there you get the forms translated. Then you head over to the Governers office (I think that's what it was) which is also in Antalya and get some bits stamped...I'm not quite sure here as Ali took the forms away to be done whilst we waited.
Then it was back to Fethiye to see the Registrar. He asked us what date/time etc.
Then we went to the mdeical center not far away for a 'medical' which consisted of 'Are you sick?' 'No'; done!
Then we dropped the medical form back at the registrar's office.
Done; that was a long day and without Ali we wouldn't have managed it. He drove us everywhere and translated. Think we left Calis at 7am and got back home around 5pm.

I organise weddings here for Anatolian Sky. www.anatoliansky.co.uk
Can do small and large weddings, whatever you want! Packages and tailor mades available and can offer just wedding ceremony and reception. I have been doing this for a number of years and have used several locations, most popular by far is the lagoon. I would personally accompany you to Antalya and through all the process, legal and visiting florist, hairdresser etc. Whatever you require.

Thanks everyone, I've passed all the details over and they have opted for Carole & Tayfan (hotels etc felt a bit ott for 9 people). So the big day is 17th September 2012, yeayyyyyy!!! Just a quiet affair and they are spending their wedding night at Ece Saray Marina and Resort.
Thanks for all your help and advice. x

:)Ian, lovely photos.  I hope you both have many happy memories of your special day.  Perhaps a splash of Grecian 2000?  8) 8) 8) ;D Best wishes.
