Banning Groups that Burn Poppies
« on: November 10, 2011, 23:09:17 PM »
Muslims Against Crusades - the group that burned poppies and is the 6th version of this group (the previous five have been banned already), has been banned.

I'm sure politicians know more than me but since it takes months to ban these groups and minutes for them to set up under a new name, wouldn't it be better to ban the burning of poppies?

"The planned "Hell for Heroes" demonstration was also scrapped". reports the BBC. Can't anti-British soldier demonstrations be banned too? This whole chase and shutdown, chase and shutdown is a ludicrous way to deal with these people. Don't ban the group, ban the things they do!!!

Scunner - you are not seriously suggesting that politicians adopt the simplistic and common sense approach you advocate.

Let them leave the country if they dont like the customs, kick the out! They would here. Can you imagine the outcry if expats were to disrespect Mustafa Ataturk!
It was lovely here today, the anniversary of his death and Turkish Flags flown in respect everywere. I wish Brits were able to be so proud of their country and people in the same way

Well that is my point exactly Jules, I couldn't agree more - I decided to live in Turkey and as part of that I understand how revered and loved Mr. Ataturk is and with that I am careful to be respectful of him and his image - not too difficult, I am a big fan of his anyway. If I burned a Turkish flag I might be imprisoned, and rightly so, but maybe I wouldn't get the chance to get as far a prison, depending on who saw me do such a thing. Can you imagine the Turks being told not to fly their flag in areas that have large numbers of British expats in case they are offended?? Because that is what is happening here in the UK!!!

I was highly impressed with the important national days in Turkey - the number of businesses, shops and houses that flew the Turkish flag with pride was amazing - at a time where we are racist if we fly the Cross of St. George or Union flag here. Not so much in Scotland - as an "outsider" I have found the Saltire (Saint Andrews Cross) is flown up here far more than you see the English flag in England.

A POEM FOR THE POPPY ABUSERS:.... This land was built from blood and tears.....The sacrifice of 2000 years....The Romans came..the Vikings too....So why would we be afraid of you?....But mark my words and mark them well....it was 1066 since we last fell.....When it comes to a fight we hate to lose....So respect our dead..... or leave...you choose!!....

What I'd really like to see is every single person in any of these groups banned from UK, regardless of whether or not they have the right to be here.
If they don't respect our fallen what chance have we got?

We're far too soft ,too easy to come here, get benefits, homes etc. Then slag off our heroes. The saying When in Rome. springs to mind. If they don't like it then ---- off !

Well I am. What would stop me from being so? Nothing - not in my last 60 years anyway.

I only wish the MAC had tried it on in Catterick yesterday. They'd have been ripped to shreds.
