Iternational or domestic teminal?
« on: December 05, 2011, 08:39:44 AM »
When flying back to Stanstead via Istanbul do you check in at the Domestic or International terminal at Dalaman?
I am asking on behalf of a friend as they fly out tomorrow and have had conflicting advice and I wasn't sure if the International terminal was open at the moment.
Thanks

When you fly out, you depart from domestic.
But when you arrive in Dalaman after having changed planes in Istanbul, you go through the international terminal.

At Dalaman you check in at domestic & get boarding cards for both flights & luggage is transferred automatically. On return, you come into domestic, but are bussed to international to collect luggage, & duty free is open. If they need a visa, this will have to be purchased in Istanbul

It used to be the international terminal but now the domestic terminal. When it was the international terminal it was back in the days when the international terminal was the international terminal. Now the international terminal is the domestic terminal and you need to go to the old international terminal, now known as the domestic terminal.

Easy really.

If me and the Mrs have a bit of a domestic in the International Terminal, are we allowed to stay there and have it, or do we have to go to the Domestic Terminal to have a domestic, and if we stay in the International Terminal to have our domestic, is it still a domestic, or is it an international ?

As it was explained to me, if you have a domestic in the domestic terminal, you need a van. This is because all international people having a domestic in the domestic must be travelling in a transit. Oh, and if asked, it's Stan's bull.

Will I have to tranship the Transit at the Domestic Terminal or the International Terminal?

Oh, and I know it's Stan's ball, he said I could kick it around a bit while I was waiting to tranship the Transit at a terminal once I'd been told whether it was the Domestic one or the International one.
