Far be it from me to suggest anything dodgy but maybe some bar owners try and pass off out of date Efes and change it for new stock when they get found out.

It won't be the first time a bar owner/landlord has tried to get rid of old stock or stock bought cheap because it only had a very short shelf life left.

The beer we had was not out of date, I always check if the taste is disappointing.
But now for something completely different, the article you link to handles about draught beer in a bottle. The mere thought of draught beer from a bottle makes me laugh so hard that I am not able to drink it. I'm not even going to try it it's ridiculous!

Elizabeth's thoughts about draught beer from a bottle:
must be like: Fresh fish from a tin can
must be like: Fresh vegetables from a jar

I take it you are not familiar with Miller Draft or any of the other American Draft bottled beers then. Shame - you are missing out on some good bottled beers.

I also understand Guinness has recently replaced the widget system from their bottled "draught" beer with a coating of cellulose fibers on the inside of the bottle. Statements indicate a new development in bottling technology enables the mixture of nitrogen and carbon dioxide to be present in the beer without using a widget, making it as Guinness says, "more drinkable" from the bottle.

No I agree with Mrs Joint-Force on this one stoop - draught comes out of a tap, never out of a bottle or can. Miller in bottles is a nice beer, but not draught, no matter what name they put on the label  ;)

In the 12 years that I live here this never happened to me, but I'm curious to know what bar/rest you mean.[?]

Its half correct, to get a good price some of the bars will have signed a contract to only buy beer from the Efes Distributor, who also sells Carlsberg and some other beers, but not Tuborg, so they cant buy Tuborg,
I am able to get a list of bars that do sell Tuborg if anyone wants though

I am spending much of today removing quotes - you do not need to quote the person directly above you - what they wrote is...erm...directly above you.

I have never had any issues with variable quality of Efes. I have always found it to be consistently crap.

As in my post about Tops beer, my boyfriend, Yetis is a distributer here for Tuborg beer, for that reason I can ask him for a list of all the bars and restaurants that he supplies
