I agree, it is so bloody annoying when you hear it costs THEM something like 20p and they charge US pounds - and they pay 20p for the full transaction and some charge pounds per person!!! They'll get it in another way I am sure, but at least this con has been addressed.

Yes I bet they do too
They will find another loop-hole along the line:-\
We are using them for our Xmas trip to Ireland
Not justifying the £24 credit card charge by no means but....
compared to Airlingus cost wise there was no contest

I have just been looking at some Thomas Cook flights, in the breakdown of the price it had £12 airport tax (this was for one person) I dont recall seeing this before when booking with them, hopefully this is not a new thing been thought up to replace the booking fee, has anyone else seen this before[?]

Karren, Its a new Tory tax due in April [?] any holiday/flight booked after April will incure this new tax also any flight booked (ie last year) but taken after April 2012  will be invoiced to pay it:-\ something to do with going Green:D:D:-\

The proposed change on card fees is so broad that most of the culprits will find a way round it. Ryanair have already decided to call the fee an administration charge. It is not surprising to see Ryanair being singled out but Easyjet is no better. There is no way that you can currently avoid the fees because they are online services and you have to pay by card and cannot pay cash.I would much prefer these companies to say the cost of the flight is so much and include the fees so that it is possible to know the cost up front rather than wait until the end of the transaction.

This change will not come into force for another year and the much tougher EU directive is 2 years away.
