So sorry to hear both of you have sad news regarding your pets/animals, that is the only bad thing of being an animal lover the heartache that comes with something going wrong. If both animals seem ok at the mo maybe let mother nature take her course when it is time. good luck both of you.

Thanks Karennina.  I was considering the operation had it been the only thing wrong with him, but he is old and I have since found some lumps.  I have a horrible feeling there's too much stacked against him, and yet he seems fit as a fiddle.  We see the vet in a few days to discuss options.

Oh my goodness, that's so kind of you  Libra to take the time to get serkan to look at the poor cat....poor thing.....I understand why you have done what you have, my only worry would be when the tumour gets that big that he can't breath and he will suffer...unless you think you will be able to catch him and get him to serkan again quickly ?.

Lynne, I would not go for the op...if things are okay and under control I personally would not rock the boat.....but that's  just me.....who is it you are talking about..?...you certainly have had more than your fair share of sadness with your animals over the past few months......take care xxxxx

I'm afraid it's Ted.  He has a growth in his neck.  He's on antibiotics, and the lump is a lot smaller.  Serkan said he could operate but its in a dodgy spot and the anaesthetic is also a consideration....  But I realise he has lumps in his stomach and I have never seen this before.  Will have to discuss it with Serkan.  The lump will choke him if it begins growing again.  The ones in his stomach, who knows.  He has a scanner now, so he might be able to tell more from that.  Yes, this past 18 months have been fraught, we have lost 5 pets.  Ted is old and Jack is going to be 14 in September.  We have to be realistic.  They can't live forever.  I hasten to add Jack is fighting fit for an old codger.

As we ourselves are tiny particles travelling through space and time , it's often difficult for us to make correct decisions and to find correct solutions. So it might be better in such cases , to leave nature take it's course , as the cause of certain problems is nature itself. Every creature that tries to survive ( which one would not ? ) deserves a helping hand and here we should try to do our best to lenghten their lives.
