Dear Members
I hope you have all have a very Merry Christmas and I wish you all a Happy and Healthy New Year..I never did return to Calis/Fethiye for Christmas as I had hoped/planned however the place and memories live on in my heart.
To cut a long story short ended up in Palma Majorca instead..I arrived last Tuesday evening had fractured my tibia by the Thursday, I now have a pot on my leg and crutches and told I am not to walk..I have not found a forum here in Majorca like this one or the sense of comorade/community spirit quite like you have their...Having said that I had not had the time to meet any of ex-pats before I fell...It's a long shot I know but wonder since this has such a large following if indeed any of the ex-pats of Calis/Fethiye did indeed move to Palma...and they could contact me..I am having problems with my telephone ..I am managing to get Internet connection sporadically from a neighbouring hotel from my balcon..if there is anyone..that would be great ...furthermore I  have to get back to the hospital on Tuesday and cannot speak any Spanish.... my email address is seaqueen@gmail.com.. .It's a long shot I know but I have nothing to loose.....Thank you

Strange new topic!!!! Your trip to Majorca will be indeed "Unforgetable" due to your misfortune. I wouldn't worry about not being able to speak Spanish, the staff in the hospitals nearly all speak a bit of English. They will get you an interpreter if you need one. Good luck.

Thank you Bluwise..a little bit of ..."you poor thing is quite nice" however I am not someone that subscribes to what I call "pity parties" just have to get on with it..I am not sure how long I am going to be here..
Toky...I suppose it may seem like a strange new topic..had'nt thought of it in quite that way...Hey I guess then it could also qualify as "unforgetable" ..Unforgetable was the name I gave to my boat because that to me is what life is all about unforgetable wonderful moments..just in a situation where looking at every option, I have been intouch with the local Church and a couple are coming out to visit tomorrow to see how they can help me..thank you god for that ...I have already been to the hospital last week so know how the system works...If I had been living here in Palma Majorca and had read something like this about another human being be it a man or a woman I would be there to help like a shot...My life has been truly "Unforgetable" ...so at least this is an ideal time to sit on my balcon with my legs in the air eating chocolate and reflecting on how wonderful my life has been..the sky is blue and the sea is infront of me and a boat has just dropped ancor..thank you for your good luck wishes and sending you good luck wishes too from Majorca....boy this chocolate is good...

Aaahemm...what's wrong with Donny?
But yes, I would rather be in Calis instead of dreading the "W" word already - 2 more days off - bliss.
