Has anyone got any more information on the canal bridge?
Did the canal burst its banks? what about the new villas that have just been completed, did the water reach them?

This is the bridge that until a couple of years ago was a ford. As the river is in a cutting at this point it can only overflow rather than burst it's banks. From the video clip there did not seem to be much depth on the banks upstream. The level seemed to start to subside fairly quickly once the JCB had cleared the debris blocking the bridge. In these conditions any rubbish from the banks upstream is picked up by the flow and, at any obstruction, forms what is similar to a beaver dam.

There has always been a water problem with heavy rain, Rip up trees, build, build, build, same thing happens in the UK the town of Lewes is an example.
I have just looked at these photos of Koycegiz, feel sorry for every affected. Koycegiz returned to Venice

I used to sit with Ali (Turtle Ali the Environmentalist)he often recited, humans have tried to play Canute for many many years, one day mother nature will avenge.  He may look eccentric but maybe he is not so daft.
