Numbers Up at All Turkish Airports Except...

you guessed it...DALAMAN.

Turkey's top 12 Airports nearly all increased passenger numbers substantially in 2011 - from a healthy +9.5% for Bodrum, up to the biggest increase - 16.5% up at Istanbul Ataturk. Dalaman was the only airport of the main 12 to not see increasing passengers, with figures for 2011 showing a 1.4% drop. If these trends were to continue, Bodrum would be a busier airport than Dalaman within two years.

I saw some figures somewhere the other day (cant remember where, it may have been on here) for the various carriers who fly into Dalaman and the figures for Onur Air were really down for 2011, they must be losing a bundle from the Uk flights that you can no longer book from the UK,I for one miss having them as an option to book with:(

[ Onur Air were really down for 2011,

Thats probably because they cancelled half the flights and the other half more than likely went to any airport except the one origionally planned to go. Not surprising really is it![xx(]

Perhaps it didn't help that Holidays 4 u or whatever their name was, went bust in 2011, taking out a number of the Onur Air flights with them?
