I was enjoying reading everyone's comments on this as my apartment is on Lapis Complex which is just a few minutes' walk past the upside down bridge.  Was looking forward to seeing what the new bridge would look like then I remembered what happened when the roads were re-surfaced - we all got billed for the work.  Will watch this space to see if a bill comes through for this too!!!  (Please do not take this as an offer!!)  :-)

Hi Debbie, reckon we will get billed for two reasons, one improved view? And second we won't need wellies to cross the bridge when it rains hard (interesting that predictive text turned wellies to willies) Lapis is just not that sort of a complex good job I spotted it.

Poor bridge, was it damaged beyond repair by the river flooding?

No, it failed to act effectively as a bridge during the recent floods, and in every single flood in it's history.

I think the original plans were upside down
