The website is very helpful and they take you through your prescription and how to give the measurements for your glasses. Most details are on your prescription (although I have found that the opticians often leave out one detail so you have to go back and ask them what it is).
You can either fill in a form online or scan the prescription over to them. Once they have it you are able to use the same one (unless it is over 2 years old) for your next set of glasses. I believe the prescription has the relevant measurements to show the size of glasses needed.
They also have a facility where you can upload your picture and then add their glasses to show you what they look like on you.
They also have online help or you can call them - they were very helpful indeed and have not bought a pair of glasses in a shop since. I looked here in Turkey at the prices and still think that I will use Glasses Direct as their prices and offers are so competitive.
