Lightening Strike

A first for me. On take off from Antalya airport our plane was struck by a lightening bolt on the wing. Although frightening at the time no damage was done and after returnining to the terminal for an hour long mechanical check we were passed ok to continue.
The effect at the time was as if we had hit something or an elephant had got loose in the hold. After a stunned silence and a few horrified faces the pilot soon informed us that we had been hit by lightening and there was nothing to worry about.

I'll second that Harmless!  :o

I'm not a nervous flyer but think that would have had me a bit worried!

Two years ago there was a terrible storm in Antalya. A group of us had boarded the bus which takes you to the aircraft. As we approached the aircraft with rain battering down and thunder and lightening ravaging the sky, we were told that the second bus had been struck by lightening.  Fortunately no one was hurt and the flight was delayed by only 40 minutes.
