I passed by the large mosque near the dolmus terminus earlier & he's back offering to take tourists round the mosque (no doubt for an exhorbitant fee)[!]

Don't do it folks, you can go in most times outside prayer times for free

The guy who tried to grab us as we walked down from the dolmus stop 2 weeks ago was the much older fella - just say a firm no and keep walking - any eye contact or - God forbid - accepting his handshake and your cause is lost

To be fair, I didn't see his face, but had the impression that he was a youngish guy. I was following some tourists (camera & video around necks + 20 bag loads from Tuesday market  ) & he offered his services to them. He scuttled off across the road when I spoiled his fun

Hang on. That guy on the left has an uncanny resemblance to this fella. So this is where he ended up after retiring.

I am almost convinced that "our" mosque pest is the same prat in the hat as the "trouble at small market" topic - if not they are very similar looking indeed. Best advice, when leaving the dolmus where they terminate on the hill up the side of the mosque, stop for no man

I've just noticed that I typed 'gut' instead of 'guy'

At the end of the day, he was very polite, gave us the chance to do something different that we would not normally have the confidence to do, and the Mosque is very beautiful -  we took many photos!

He charged us 10 Lira (£4) which was a pound each - I thought that was quite cheap - especially as ALL the money was going back to the Mosque and not him [?]

No all the money isn't going to the mosque, and he is breaking the law as well...
