Started yesterday & here we are at 02:20 & we've had our first visit from the drummer. Oh well, only another 27 days to go

Last year no drummers and now this year we have 2 going around, ear plugs tonight I think

Enjoy! I used to live next door to a Mosque! And in that Country they would start by reading a part of the Koran, next day that and another part, until it was the entire thin g shouted out by the Mullah, seem to remember it went on nearly all night! I was so grateful for the noisy air conditioner that I had previously grumbled about! Hopefully they dont do that in Turkey -- I would have to leave for Ramadan!

If I left for Ramadan, it would be because the driving gets even worse for that period.  Amazingly.

We were  in Fethiye at the fish market when the canon went off to signal the stampede to eat. It made us jump and we thought it was the bloody Syrians,

I only hear the drummer in the distance as he doesnt seem to come down out street.Dont mind listening to him,also enjoy hearing the mosque call early morning.All adds to my Turkish Living Experience.

I was hoping to hear the drummers but alas I slept right through and have now returned to England, although I understand he was in deffinitely in the area from others. I hear that there is a move to get rid of the drumming tradition as it disturbs people.................
