I imagine he is just following the historical theme of the opening ceremony and remembering the 1936 games.

I bet he enjoyed Paul McCartney's song choice too.

I would normally knock the british establishment, I just can't do with all the media hype. However after watching and enjoying every minute of the ceremony I thought it was a huge success, the queen's part in it was perfect. I was proud to see a multi-cultured balance and thought it an overwhelming great opening, and one that every brit should be proud of. Well done Danny Boyle and the rest.

Tiggsy I wasn`t proud to see a multi coloured balance ...it was very noticable... but  I  believe Danny Boyle leans to the `left`anyway..   within ten years or less the `balance` as you refer to will be `tipping` in favour of the multi coloured  in the UK ....  but getting back to the ceremony..one of many examples friday night was...didnt it look a wee bit rediculous placing that black guy in a top hat and dressed up portraying a big  industrialist in the 19th century standing and dancing next to Isambard Brunel ???
I am not racist.....  just dont like the way the UK is heading.

Hi from new member Kevin Sowten (husband of Angela) and counting down to 3 weeks Friday for another 16 days in Calis   :)  :)  :)
Good old Google :-
Baron Pierre de Coubertin- the founder of MODERN olympics was french (not to be confused with ancient olympics which was founded by greeks) . Hence, In every Olympics, French is the first official language of Olympics, English is the second official language and then the announcements are made in language of the host country.

French is the official olympic language, as the games were revived by a Frenchman, Pierre de Coubertin. At every games of the modern era the announcements have been in French first & then the language of the host nation.

Thanks liz101  ;)

I've never seen a multi-coloured person. Do you have a photo of one of them so I can spot them when they tip the balance?

Your issue is clearly racism, in my opinion, which must be awful for someone who is not racist.
