Booking a Holiday
« on: August 17, 2012, 19:16:05 PM »
Having had four weeks in Turkey earlier in the year, and having worked hard over the summer - working hard as only retired people can do - we decided to book a week in St Ives in September. So I spent 4 hours today trying to sort it out. When I finally found a a nice pub to stay B&B, at a reasonable price, I contacted it only to be told the price was not per room but per person, so it was twice as much as I thought.

2 hours later I fixed a holiday in a hotel in a village in Rhodes at £100 more than the Cornish holiday including the flight.

My last holiday in the UK was 27 years ago.  2 young kids and nothing to do because of the rain.  Cost us a fortune for a week and said never again.  Cheaper to go abroad.  Sad but true  :'( :'( :'(

Just been looking for a cottage in Wales for 1 week on the 1st September....nothing under £500. Caravans between £200 and £300. Yep, cheaper to go abroad, as there are only 2 of us going.
