Was at Shaka with friends a few evenings ago enjoying a wonderful meal and a relaxing chat UNTIL the singer came on,  we then were straining to hear each other.   Do they not understand the meaning of background music?

Thanks for the feedback doodlebug the music was far too loud for our guest to enjoy a quality night at Shaka ( this was due to the gentleman playing music was trying to have a competition with the music next door), we as shaka decided not to have live music anymore since every bar and restaurant on the promenade have live music !!!  Except on special occasions when we will bring blues and jazz singers from istanbul !!!

We didn't make it to Shaka during our recent visit although it was very highly recommended.

It is very refreshing to see a restaurant taking notice of what their customer(s) are saying and acting on it.

Well done - we will make a point of visiting next time ;D.

It was a real shame they didnt pay any attention to the awfuil meal we had there last sunday.
We were really looking forward to going after the very favourable revues this place has had on the forum and must say it was the biggest let down of our time here.
Both hubby and I ordered the beef bbq ribs at 28 lira each. I had the potato bake with mine but other half preferred chips. The food was served within minutes and the beef rib had never seen a bbq in its life, it had been braised and reheated as had the potato bake which was cold in the middle. The home made chips on the menu didnt end up on hubbies plate only a few dregs of frozen chips. We asked the waiter had there been a mix up with our order as braised beef on the bone was also on the menu but he insisted it was bbq we had been served. I asked the waiter to tell the chef/owner the menu was misleading I watched as he shrugged and walked away. When we got the bill he said the bbq rib was now 34 lira, but as it said 28 on the menu we could have it for 28.!!

Tried this place last night and it was a big disappointment. Way overpriced for what you get.
My husband had lamb kebab which was tough and half the portion of anywhere else.
The home made chips were hard and barely cooked.
I had the "chargrilled" never been near a grill salmon "fillet" which had bones in and was smothered in teriyaki sauce which wasn't mentioned on the menu. Mixed dips for starter which didn't come with bread until we asked!
The waitress then asked if our meal was delicious!
Won't bother going back. First impressions count.

Hello,

We understand that you ve had a few mistakes with your meal, we are sorry about that. This was due to some staff training both in the kitchen and on the floor ... (offcourse this can not be an excuse) But the waiter/waitress who didint take your comments seriously is the one responsible for this unfortunate experience you ve had with us, we will look in to the matter asap... Meanwhile we would like to invite you for some real BBQ Beef Ribs on the house, they realy are to die for!!! Please ask for Yildo( floor manager) if/when you do decide to come back in.
