Its called tereyağı and is in blue and gold wrapping as Mercury says.

Yes it's called tereyagi, that is the Turkish word for butter, but I thought you would want the brand name, which is Pervin.

Thanks D1 for the brand name - I thought if Bewva found the tereyağı he would be OK because they only sell the one brand.

I'm not bothering with the Lurpak (from the Pork Shop) any more.  It's the spreadale one which if you read the carton is a vegetable oil based butter (which enables it to be spreadable straight from the fridge).  It's pretty much like other spreads you would buy in the UK.  It comes unsalted and slightly salted and quite frankly it's a waste of the 12 tl that they are charging for it.  I've always got a supply of Bim's butter and I'm happy with it.

Glad that I'm never going to your house and have something with butter on then, I wouldn't even cook with it.  Nobody I know uses Bim butter.
