I had one Russ a few years back and the worry is understandable but I assure you the reality isn't too bad at all. I had no pain at all, and highly recommend morphine - if they sold it in off licences I'd be first in the queue, a pleasant experience  :) . I understand if they have to enter via the lower regions it can be quite painful, but the usual way (wrist) really wasn't much to worry about.

Had 1 a month ago via the femoral artery through the groin. Sore on the day through being prodded & poked more than anything & ached for a few days afterwards but nothing really drastic. Wasn't allowed to drive for 48 hours & have to carry a card with me for 90 days explaining the procedure in case of any blood loss or seperate accident as they don't want lots of blood thinning which may cause the "plug" to fail. Hope that helps a bit.

Thanks guys, makes me feel a bit better about the whole thing. Just have to worry about the result and outcome now! A few lifestyle changes on the horizon me thinks  :)

I worked in a hospital and patients were transferred to another for the procedure.
Never saw one that didn't come back to the same ward.  Everyday procedure nowadays.

I am sure many do go straight home.  The age group I saw were a good few years older than your good self Scunner.
The folk I saw had been in hospital for some time and this was just another test they were doing.
