Domestic UK flights
« on: September 15, 2012, 19:35:08 PM »
Has anybody taken a child on a domestic flight without a passport.
We are taking our grandson to Jersey and his passport  is out.
We don't want to get a new one for a three day trip unless it is really necessary.
The Easy Jet website states that if an adult can vouch for who he is a passport is not necessary but can this be trusted?????????

If a passport is not needed, surely his expired one should count as a form of id

I would take a print out of the web page just in case as the security/ground people might not be up on it; when I flew from gatwick to edinburgh last month, there was a woman having an argument because she was using a driving license and the ground staff were being funny. I think she had a point, you don't need a passport to get a train to Scotland (yet) so why do you need it for a plane ?

Fran ..I did think that would do as well.  I might be biased but I still think he is as cute as he was at two year old.
Blackadder....that is my fear especially with a domestic flight where you don't get much time to argue with them.
Old passport and a printout might be enough.  It is a shame to get a passport now when it is probably not needed until next year as i am sure a child only gets five years out of one.  Damn things are too pricey to get if not required.
