EasyJet Dalaman Flights - Select Your Seat Prices
« on: September 18, 2012, 12:08:32 PM »
In case anyone is looking for these, the costs for selecting your seat (from November, so for all Easyjet UK - Dalaman - UK flights from the beginning of next season):

Extra Legroom Seats: £12
Front of Plane (speedy boarding included) £8 - on the seat plans I have seen this is rows 1 to 8.
Select Your seat (all other seats) £3

Prices are per person per flight.

You do not need to select your seat or pay extra. If you decide not to, a seat will automatically be allocated to you and there is no extra charge.

This hopefully ends the characteristic Easyjet scrummage - particularly at Dalaman itself - of people trying to get on early to get good seats or to ensure they can sit with their family friends. I think it possibly will also spell the end for speedy boarders - who will pay £8 just to get to an allocated seat in the first 8 rows..?

If anyone sees any costs that differ from the above, please add them!

we fly out of Manchester on Sunday with Easyjet for the first time, and am not looking forward to the boarding part of the trip. We have paid the extra for priority boarding, but if everyone does that, there will be no priority....... I am quite a big bloke, so I may just block the door and send a runner on ahead to lie across 4 seats.......lol

Luckily flying home with Monarch, and by the looks of it by the time I need another flight, Easyjet will have moved across to allocated seating by then anyway.

Very few (maybe around 20 on average?) do the speedy boarding bit so there will definitely be an advantage. Where it does get amusing is when they let them through first, then the rest of us get let through onto a bus which will take us to the plane. Who's on the bus already? The speedy boarders - and first on the bus often means last off, advantage gone :D

But that is something I haven't seen for a few years...

I think I will just do a bit of loitering around the doors of the bus then :o)

On our flight home on Tuesday, there must have been 60 people in the Speedy queue. People were putting there bags by the desk in an attempt to reserve their place at the front of the SB queue.

Reserved seating can't arrive soon enough for me.

Sounds like they missed an opportunity to introduce a new level of boarding - Speedier Speedy Boarding.

We'd booked speedy boarding for this year's flights in May from Manchester and had no problems going out, managed to get extra leg room seats  for hubby who's 6'2".  However, coming back was a bit different.  Joined the speedy boarding queue which seemed to be rather long,  but of course as soon as gates are opened half of these people in the queue haven't booked speedy boarding and looked rather 'surprised' that they were in the wrong one. But hey, never mind we'll just wait here until the other queue boards and guess what we're right at the front!!   >:(

Yes that is one trick at Dalaman :D Another I like to use is to ignore the queue forming behind the easy boarders (to the right side of the gate desk) and linger at the desk to the left side. Once the speedy boarders are through, they of course start checking people through on both sides, and there are we, first in queue 2  ;)
