Furniture and Household Goods Shops Guide
« on: October 06, 2012, 18:36:54 PM »
It has been suggested that a Furniture and Household Goods Shop Guide would be very useful to people who are planning to move to Calis/Fethiye and maybe to those who are already residents or apartment owners and that the proceeds of any sales should go to the 3C’s Charity Funds

Whilst I am perfectly willing to put it together I did highlight two possible drawbacks as being 1. I would be totally reliant on fellow members (especially residents) providing the required information and 2. the scaling problem (I had “played” around with a Fethiye Restaurant Guide and the first attempt is as shown below.

Thinking about it further, if we did this I would need an accurate location which with the Restaurant Guide was relatively straightforward.

So what do members think of the idea ? Do you have a favourite furniture and household goods shops that you know the exact location of and consider should be in a Guide

H - seems like a very good idea, a few things that may cause a bit of hassle are that many of the types of shop mentioned are very close together and others are pretty remote so the map area will be much larger than the Calis guide.

Hi H.  I was just about to post about furniture and then I saw this.  I realise it didn't go anywhere at the time but I wondered if you had decided not to do it.  It's fine if you have but I'd be happy to pay for something like this if it was available.   ;D  S x

How about a "Beaches Guide" ??
The question our guests ask most is "where are the best beaches" ?

A small booklet detailing beaches which can be reached in a day would be great.
Details of how to get there (walking, bike, taxi (& approx cost) , public transport and a brief description of the beach and facilities available would be brilliant.

Just detaling the various beach areas in Calis from Sat down to Caretta beach occupies a few pages in our Villa Manual , but if you then start to include Katranci, Yaniklar, Olu Deniz, Sugar Beach ,Kidrak, Gunluklu, the bays just past Karagozler and on towards Lykia World etc. it would actually be a small booklet worthy of several lira and could even sell advertising space within !

A nice summer project for some one doing the research and getting the photos ??

Think you may have voted yourself in for that job Phil.   ;)

"H" will be busy with the Furniture Shop project, which, personally, I think is a great idea. ;D
