Have been browsing this site for ages and have only recently noticed the intro section.  My partner, Simon and I are going to Calis on 16 May for 10 days, have done DIY which we have done for a number of years now.  Have been to Turkey 4 times, each time to Icmeler. We found the last time we went that the resort has grown considerably and although still a fabulous place to holiday we wanted to try somewhere else. After loads of searching on net came across Calis and reading about it, I know we have made a good choice.  We are going on our own (first time for more than a week without kids)! Only 10 days, not that I'm counting??? We both love eating out, drinking and generally socialising and from what I have read on this site we shall have enough to keep us both happy!!  Partner is a huge football fan (MUFC) so will be looking for a good bar to watch the cup final in. Depending on the weather I may well join him, but if the sun is out the pool and I will be very happy together. The information on this site is great and all the members seem so friendly, although I must admit that reading about all the people that own property in Calis does bring a bit of the 'green eyed monster' out in me!!! Oh well, maybe one day.

Sorry should have said, my name is Sheila. My user name is a combination of my two daughters, Jenny and Joanne ( the two who will not be coming on holiday with us). The younger one isn't impressed that we are going on our own, she keeps threatening to hide passports and tickets!!
We are staying at the Golden Moon hotel.  It looks really nice but have read that there is building going on next door to it so hoping that it will either be finished or they won't start working too early in the mornings! Does anyone have any news on this?

Hi Sheila, We stayed at the Golden Moon last year its a lovely little hotel. The owner Mete is very nice. We ended up taking the plunge and bought an apartment which is actually right behind the Golden Moon and Mete has told us that we are welcome to come round to use the bar and the pool so we will probably see you there (we are going on 13 May for 3 weeks) We were a bit worried about the building works as well but I think it should be nearly finished. If you log on to Nicholas Homes you can see the progress - its called Venice Apartments.

Thanks Chris, please put my name on a sunbed for me lol. What time of the year did you go last time, the only thing that has me slightly worried is the location of the hotel.  So close to the canal that runs by I'm a bit worried about mosquitos, they love me! You won't fail to recognise us, large white female with head in book and balding, thin partner with headphones on!!! Also a friend of ours is coming with us, she has managed to get on our flight and the hotel had a single room available.  In the First Choice brochure it states that not all rooms have balcony, did you notice this?  We have booked direct and have asked for a room with a sea view so hopefully we will.  I also asked if the rooms had fridges but have not had a reply, can you remember if they did?
