Thank You Animal Aid
« on: January 04, 2013, 19:35:32 PM »
Today I was on duty at the 3cs charity shop at the Eyna restaurant, my job was to be outside on crowd control following our recent refurbishment and shop extension. Anyway, at one point the loveliest little dog hobbled up on three legs, he was really thin and dehydrated and to me looked like he had a broken front leg. Clearly in pain he settled down and took comfort as I gave him a stroke. I spoke to a Turkish person who told me that he had been hanging around for days. I phoned Animal Aid and Pauline told me that they were aware of this guy but had been unable to find him, a lady called Linda overheard our conversation and offered to take him down to the vets where he was diagnosed with a very painful dislocated elbow. He is now in the best of care and Animal Aid are picking up all of the associated costs.

Earlier this week I took some pictures of 3Cs & Animal Aiders throwing themselves into the sea on New Year's Day to raise funds, the thought crossed my mind " what on earth would I have done today when this poor little dog crossed my path without the backing of the AA team?"

As I said in the title. Thank You Animal Aid

Thank you for your kind words and deeds by yourself and Linda   :)

Unfortunately it was not a dislocated elbow, Linda left before the xray was taken, it was found the dog had been shot at several times with an airgun once on the nose and three or four shots to the leg one being on a nerve >:( which is why it was not walking properly.

Happily the dog is now at Mad About Mutts being looked after by Arlene while he recovers after anti inflammatory, anti biotic and painkiller injections, it should take about ten days and then get neutered and probably put back on the street   :) unless anyone wants to offer him a home, he is about 7 years old.

Also we took Frank to Arlenes, this is the dog that was knocked over for a second time and suffered another broken leg and is only one year old! this one will take about 4 weeks and we really would like a home for him as he has no road sense :o

please contact us if you can help   :)
