Crown Green Bowling Club
« on: January 15, 2013, 15:53:16 PM »
I've had a request from a Bowls club captain in the UK for some contact information at the crown green bowling club here ( not the flat green at the Oykun ) The club held an open day in mid June last year. Can anyone help?

Hi Rimms,

If you could email me the UK Bowls club captain's details, I will pass them on to one of  the Committee members for you.
Thank you.

Thanks for the contact details, we also have friends at a UK bowls club who are looking to organise a holiday for club members and would like to have a few games whilst here.

Hubby & I  pop in to the green when we are over and are made very welcome. Ambar Pide now have accomodation upstairs and Tugay is just across the road. Got shown around Ambar Pide's rooms last September.  Lovely but no pool, so that maybe a wee drawback for them.

We met up with a couple of the crown green bowlers when we were "having a trundle" on the Oykun flat green last time we were in Calis in 2011.  They invited us to a game at their green opposite the hotel Tugay and we spent a great afternoon of bowling at their weekly bowls competition.  They are a great, friendly bunch of people and I'm sure you would receive a good welcome if you decide to drop in.  We found that the secretary and his wife used to live just a few miles away from our house in the UK.  We live at Leigh, Lancs and they were from Golborne.  Give them a try..............you'll enjoy the experience and also make some new friends.  We'll be calling in again when we re-visit Calis in September/October this year.  :) 8)
