Saw this on T.A. and  thought it was a good site.   It may be of interest to Smokers on the Forum to see where the smoking areas are at Dalaman  ;)

Thanks Jacqui - This was on the website -

"*Smoking - Up until this year there were no smoking areas at Dalaman, but since October 2012 they have opened up smoking areas. There is one next to check in desk 60 and one next to departure gate 27."

Has anyone actually seen these areas?

I've seen the one by the departure gate, turn right after passport control & keep walking as far as you can, just in front of the toilets & turn right. It's basically a metal cage, so if it's blowing a hooley & raining persistently you freeze your bits & get wet

If 60 is the furthest right check in as you walk in, it always was there - you go between the check in and the first of the kiosks that run down the right side back to the front. The first kiosk was where the yabanci help counter was (and probably still is). The smoking room definitely closed down when the smoking ban came in - seems like it made a return.

Smoking was fun back then. It's a filthy, disgusting habit now  ;)

The old smoking room by check in 60 is now an office & the new smoking area is the same set up as Liz described the departure gate one, an 'open' caged area across a walkway. Although I'm not a smoker myself, having worked at Dalaman I can appreciate it is much better for passengers to have access to smoking areas within the airport, particularly in times of delays!

Dead easy to find. Just follow the smell and the sound of coughing.  ;)

I remember the smoking area in the middle of the huge departure lounge at Gatwick - seems incredible now with the smoking ban - but it was like a clear perspex tank almost literally in the middle of everyone with extraction developed by NASA fighting wall to wall chain smokers. And losing. You didn't need a cigarette to get your fix, just walk in. Even as a smoker, it was truly awful.

The area after security at Bournemouth airport was wonderful last time we flew to Dalaman.  It was a huge area, and they had tables and chairs out there.  It helped that it was a lovely sunny morning when we flew, as it would be horrific if it was raining.  You could sit out there with drinks, etc, the only downside was that you had to go back inside to go to the bar!
