I personally think Calis is dying on its feet, there has been little opportunity for the bars/restaurants to invest in their premises with everyone complaining about the price of Efes every year, how are they supposed to make their money bearing in mind for most its only seasonal, it all looks very dated and very much the same, great for the ex-pats but killing it as a resort for families :(

it needs something big and interesting to wake it up and get the other bars motivated  ;)

Da Vinci didn't last long did it, same as rodeo bar too? Its an ideal location for a new venture, so if the new owners play their cards right, a new injection of "fun" may just liven up the prom.

Much of the problem with Calis ventures not lasting is that they pay too much for the lease, can't make any money on their beer sales and if they do manage to do well, the landlord stuffs them. It really is as simple as that.

Fun Pub coming to town

If I remember correctly Guvens has a few things for youngsters to do.

Not sure a fun pub would actually be aiming at families with kids anyway. Anything like Portugal it will mean happy hours and cheap shots plus loud music and more than likely trouble.

Please let it mean an indoor soft play area. :-)
Even an outdoor covered one would do.

I have two children, ones 4 the other 6 months old & there is not a great deal we can do during daylight hours during the Summer because of the heat.

So it's either take them to a fast food (they always have indoor play area's) restaurant or fry them in the sun.

Spot on Andy, people will see the difference this year, my bet is most will head into Fethiye, far superior for entertainment and restaurants.

My guess is they'll start off with what they think will draw in the crowds.

Starting with happy hours!

Followed by massive TV screens blaring out the x factor/football with rows of people sitting stiffly in hard chairs staring at a screen for most of the night.

And for later it'll be wet t shirt competitions and foam parties and semi naked young men dancing on the bar.  ;D
