Hi catterickgirl and welcome.

This could be a long topic but basically 1. Working in Turkey without a work permit is illegal and you run a risk of being deported and banned from returning. 2. Buying a restaurant in Turkey is one of the quickest ways to lose all your money known to man. Bars and restaurants are always for sale, yours probably would be after a year too  ;)

I'm sure others will have advice too.

Hello catterickgirl and welcome.

Have to agree with, Scunner cause I did own a bar in, Calis. Didn't lose all my money but i certainly didn't leave/sell it smelling of roses.

Please be very, very careful.

Pete

Basically, it's a great place to retire, it's a bleeding nightmare of a place to work.

Alarm bells!  Be very careful and don't let anyone tell you that 'they will sort it for you to work' because you DO run the risk of being fined and deported if you work without a permit and getting one is almost impossible.  Not worth the risk.
