H, that is one of the reasons why we are not travelling in June (half term week)  for a family of four the only flights that we could get were just short of £2,000.
Second reason is oldest daughter needs to be at home to revise for final exams but if flights had been cheaper we would probably have taken the revision with us and had a quiet week around the pool.

Such a pity because I understand that all the best people are there at the time we are planning.

Well for us it is a simple process. We are happy to go to Turkey for our family summer holiday and we are equally happy not to. I monitor the flights etc and when the good deal arrives I book four return seats. I then go looking for a hotel, that's easy once you have your flights booked.

For the last two years this hasn't been Dalaman or Turkey, and this year it isn't either.

But it's not just the flights - the cost of apartments seem to have leapt also
