Hotel in Peebles, Scotland - recommendations please

Hello to all those north of the border.
We have a surprise party to go in June - the party is in Peebles and we are looking for a mid price hotel for two nights. 
(nothing too basic, but not too posh either!)
Do any CBF'ers have any recommendations - we are a party of 4

We trashed The Tontine Hotel in Peebles a number of years ago when we stayed there for our sons wedding.

Quite nice and I think it looks like £ 220 for two nights.

Our daughter-in-law is from Peebles so if you get other suggestions I can ask her if she knows the hotels.

Thanks H,  will have a google!  Just waiting on confirmation as to which hotel the Birthday people are staying at!  Don't want to spoil the surprise by turning up at their hotel! 
Our friend is a triplet and they will all be 50!  They were born on their Mums 30th birthday so it is a 150th birthday party!
Plan to spend the Saturday doing 'Edinburgh', as our eldest will also be 16 yrs that week end and then the party Sat night and drive back home Sunday.

Try the Cardrona Hotel which is part of the Macdonald hotel group and I think easy-breaks are possibly now including that hotel. Great food & service, we were there 3 times last year including xmas. Not sure what prices will be like in June.

We stayed at the Tontine a couple of years ago and had no complaints.  If you stay ask for a room at the back as you get a lovely view.  There are nice walks down by the river, to work up an appetite before dinner.

Thanks to those of you north of the border!
We have after much deliberation booked into the Tontine for 2 nights!
2 rooms 2 nights £320.00 

The eldest did her utmost to convince us this was the place to stay, after all she will be celebrating her 16th too!
(I think my 16th was just spent as a normal day)
Edinburgh Castle to be visited on the 15th - anyone any comments on this, will this take the whole day or will we have time to do something else too ?
