Best areas to buy

I am due to retire in 12 months and would like some advice on the best areas in Calis to buy a 2 bed property for up to max £50k.
I have been out several times looking at various properties over the past 4 years viewing with interturk and european estates.
Any advice would be helpfull.

First question - did you find areas you thought were better during your several visits? Everyone is different, some like the central area, others swear by Gunlukbasi and yet more would sneer at both of those and tell you Koca Calis is where it's at. The three groups I mention are the following respectively: People who bought in the central area, the people who bought in Gunlukbasi, and the people who bought in Koca Calis.

I think with several visits under your belt that there is only one person who can answer your question

By the way, I assure you the best area is the central area near the bird sanctuary

We lived between Kipa (old one) and the Otogar and I really really liked it and never wanted to come to Calis.

My wife did (how does that voting system work?)

She was right - we are between Cafe Pazar and the promenade and the options we have for supermarkets / buses / promenade / local and very reasonable restaurants / the Sunday Market / hairdressers / even a BurgerKing soon and even a Hospital (Devlet - cheapest for me!!!) are superb.

I wouldn't change it having looked at all other areas and personally wanting Fethiye Town or Akarca - I am now by default in the right place

I had a place in Gunlukbasi and can't fault it, more for your money all the local shops you could need but having said that am now happy with a place in the hills above Fethiye.

We are sokak 1023 and love the nice quiet area

Locality is a big issue when buying but over time I think orientation of the house/flat is almost as important; full sun all day, shade in the evening or morning these turn out to be very important and buying one side of the road as opposed to the other can make a real difference.
