About to give up
« on: March 29, 2013, 11:27:55 AM »
Has anyone seen any signs of life at the Kerim bar yet ?, I am trying to book my Holiday but am about to give it up as a bad job, I understand that Hoteliers and staff need a break but is it too much to ask that a phone line or web site is kept live? Love calis, but this is soooo frustrating

Hi Howartt - I have sent you a pm with another number to try - if you haven't already tried it.

Walked past the Kerim today and the guy outside said the hotel will open  either the first or second week of May.

Think you need to know that Turkey is not like the U.K.  The people in Hotels and restaurants work 7 days per week usually 12-16 hours a day in the season.  So they take a break from November until April.  Why should anyone be there to answer the phone??  They will answer, probably in April and you will get booked, so don't worry, chill out like the Turks do.  Seems like some staff are already back and getting the place ready.
If this is the place you want to stay, be patience, you will get your booking.

Why should anyone be there to answer the phone??

Because someone wants to give them their custom :o.

Supposing someone wants to book for the first week in May. Not being able to book until April and then have to hope to get flights at a decent price would not seem to me to be very helpful :(.

Book the flight, there will always be somewhere to stay... Flight is most important thing to book IMO
We booked flights for Istanbul first and then a couple of months later found an Hotel.. Simples.

I had a business in a holiday resort in the canaries.52 weeks of the year,up to 20 hours a day.I know this is Turkey but i really think they should get their act together or in the next few years they will face difficulties.
If people get no response they will go somewhere else.
They could at least have someone looking after emails etc.
I know the family quite well and believe me they are very laid back.

Kerim Hotel was quite hard to contact even in mid season last year.

I don't think everyone is able to 'chill out' when it comes to booking holidays.  I am very organised and go into the finest detail before I book somewhere to stay having been unfortunate enough, (pre-google earth) to end up miles from anywhere up a steep hill etc.

It's OK saying there will always be somewhere to stay but not everyone is easily pleased or maybe have a budget to consider?
Howartt - if you can't contact them and want any other suggestions, I'm sure you will get some here if you ask.
