Goodbye Orient Express ?
« on: March 29, 2013, 20:16:22 PM »
I hate to spread rumours and I hope its not true, but I've heard on what I think is fairly good authority that the Orient Express has passed to new owners from Istanbul who  run a number of very successful fish restaurants, apparently the plan is to convert the Orient to a fish restaurant. I know there are some personal issues regarding the Orient s owner which don't need discussing on here, but for me anyway, I think it's a bit sad to see a place disappear which has always been such a part of Calis front.

Now here's a thought, was it the Orient, or was It Falcon and then George?

For me, it was both combined with their delicious lamb shank

Falcon was always a delight - a thoroughly nice man.  :)

For me it was exactly what you said there.

Wish someone would open a Turkish Food restaurant at Calis Beach..  Another Fish Restaurant would not be my choice...

"Another" fish restaurant? Where is there a top notch seafood eatery in Calis? I can't think of one, best I know of is in Fethiye.

Certainly doing some work there, the terrace above has gone & new canopy almost built.

Yes it will be sad.Its not been the same since George left.it was very quiet in there last year when i was there.
Okyanus is good but i dont think another turkish fish restaurant will go amiss.

As I've said many times, there was a time when the Orient was the place to go. Sadly, that time is long gone :(

I think you misspelt the name, unless it is some sort of code.
