Employment Rules Urgent Advice
« on: March 31, 2013, 10:18:28 AM »

I confess that I should have addressed this matter long before now but it is now urgent if not too late.

I also have to admit, that by necessity, I will have to be very vague.

I was wondering if anyone has experience in Employment Rules and can provide me with some advice.

I've been involved in recruitment through to consultation process and redundancy on a number of occasions and unfortunately on the receiving end not so long ago - not sure I could give advice but may be able to help find answers.

I have had some experience of things happening around me.  EG    redundancy, disciplinarys, letting go.
This is a site that may have the answers
https://www.gov.uk/browse/working

Just another thought - our household insurance covers employment/legal matters and I made full use of them to take my previous employers to tribunal following redundancy.  May be worth a look at your policy if you feel you need any legal advice ref any aspect of employment?  The gov.uk website above was my first port of call for many queries from hol entitlement to sick pay.

Relieved to hear that - however, smaller things that don't appear right can soon escalate and make for a very unhappy time.  We spend so many hours at work it's always worth trying to resolve - hope you find the info you need.

If you are part of a union they should be able to assist.

Thanks Eric

It really isn't a very big deal and I hope I haven't put people to too much bother.

I do however appreciate all the responses.

Only just seen this Highlander, but ACAS were a great help to me when I was made redundant a couple of years ago.  Helpline number is 08457 47 47 47.
