Us too - always up for a deal as Gary says. We have used him for 5 years, having previously used an older guy called Celal who was very nice but only knew two English words, and one of those was Migros.

Perhaps the number you quote is for a taxi and/or of a relative.

Sorry, slightly off topic! But Sukru's, Sugar's boat along the front in Fethiye has a big for Sale sign on and also looks as if not any work has been done on it. So is he not using this boat this year?

Are any of this drivers happy to be phoned in the middle of the night if need be?reason I ask is my hubby was ill in the night last Friday and he is never ever ill, it was really scary and I did think to myself if we were in Turkey and one of us got ill what do you do? we are not located that near to any of the hospitals in Calis/ Fetiyhe, common sense says call an ambulance but with the language barrior this could be a problem...

The guy we use, who is in business with just one other relative told us to ring him any time day or night.  We often joke he sleeps in his taxi.  However, we made a big mistake last year, we gave his card out to all the people who came over for my son's Wedding.  Everyone was saying what a nice guy and how prompt he was.  Anyway, after a nice meal out and a few drinks we rang him only to find he was on the way out to the Majesty Tuana with some of the guests and his partner was on his way into Fethiye with some of the other guests.  So, we had no regular taxi service that night...

over the years we had used Mehmet Beder  (Taksimehmet) a gentleman as confirmed by Lynn25 and Mary.  When we lived there we often asked him to collect friends for transfers or just a night out.  One night he turned up at our villa with couple who forgot keys for a rental, yet he remembered we had keys for the apartment and came round to our property albeit 4am to ensure this very tired couple could get their holiday off to a good start. 
Nothing is too much trouble for him.

Well.....I took myself off to bed early as I wasn't feeling at all well and in my absence the topic explodes like this.  A big thank you to everybody.  I am really very grateful and I might have to get a bigger book for all the info coming my way!
