Turkish Airlines
« on: April 08, 2013, 11:01:35 AM »
I have just noticed on another thread that someone has mentioned that Turkish Airlines are "going down".

I know I shouldn't believe everything I read (!), but we have been stung many times with airlines going bust, and having to wait months to get our money back.  I am about to book a flight back for the end of August with Turkish Airlines, so wondered if there is any truth in the rumour.  Thanks for any help.   :)

You shouldn't believe everything you read. Turkish Airlines is almost half state owned and just last month placed an order for more than 80 new planes. Not the sort of thing companies that are about to go bust do.

Agree totally - the airline is being used to "promote" Turkey in the wider world by taking on more and more routes and is therefore a "marketing tool" of the government.

This article says 117 planes - but either way - growth - growth and more growth I would have thought whilst this government is in power.  ;D
