I am not a labour supporter ... [I am] a great admirer of Tony Blair.
Best post in this section Karoke. I hold a similar view from the opposite direction.

Adolf hitler, Fred West, Peter Sutcliff, Mick and Mairead Philpott, Myra Hindley, Ian Brady, Jimmy Saville (I am running out of ink now)  Let us not speak ill of the dead (Ok 3 not yet, unfortunately)  do we say RIP for them too?  May hell freeze first.

Shame on you for suggesting she is in the same bracket as any one of those!

If one was to use the fact that the leader of any country was/is considered a great Statesman/women, in order to tear ones hair out, & wear sackcloth & ashes on the death of such a person, surely the demise of Adolf Hitler should be, or should have been, a cause for sadness worldwide, if not, the premise that Thatcher will be lauded in the future as one of the world's greatest political leaders, is a total farce !!!!
I wondered when you would appear on this topic Gordon. a friend of mine on CBF  who happens to be a labour supporter described you as the most obnoxious person he has met, I think he was been rather kind.

Uncalled for Des and totally off topic.  Perhaps if you had had the pleasure of meeting Gordon and had formed this opinion afterwards you'd have room to talk!

No tears here either

Well it's about time we called this one a day I think. We are never going to agree on Mrs T. Some hate her, some love her, some want to respect her in death and some want to slag her off.

Last post from me on this.

Stoop don't go shame on me, I have respect for the people who have not let me down,  not the people that have Sh**e on me and my "working class" friends.
Never apologise for me or speak on my behalf.

Someone earlier mentioned her "saving the Falklands". It's worth remembering that shortly before Argentina invaded the islands Thatcher and her defence minister John Nott sold some of our warships to the Argies to reduce defence spending and at the same time reduced the Royal Navy's patrols in that part of the world from three vessels to one small frigate. So she provided the Argies with the means and the opportunity to invade. The cost of putting that right and retaking the islands in terms of human and financial figures should NEVER be forgotten. It was totally avoidable. Her "boys" bore the cost while her son was getting lost during a rally in the Sahara and being rescued by the RAF.The Belgrano she had destroyed was one of the warships she had sold them.

The Belgrano she had destroyed was one of the warships she had sold them.
Nonsense.  The Belgrano was previously the USS Pheonix and was sold to the Argentinians in 1951.
