Why wouldn't you contemplate it, you will probably enjoy the drive.

We did it 5 years back.  10 hour drive but well worth it.  If I was to do it again I would stop overnight somewhere like Conyer on the way there, and somewhere different on the way back.

We broke the journey near Beysehir. Not much of a town but it has a fabulous 13th century mosque with cedar columns and is decorated with blue tiling.

There are usually adverts in the land of lights and sunexpress newspapers for cappadokia trips, usually last 4/5 days with stops on the journey including hotel accommodation. I think about £200 , will keep a look out over the coming months and post if I see anything.

The drive is lovely, it's up to 12 hours depending on which route and the benefit of having the car is that you can stop when you see something interesting, prepare to stop often!
