You would just have to take your chance.  Problem is, you wouldn't be able to wait until midnight and then buy another visa because they wouldn't allow you to 'land' as they say.  Then again you will get the guy who just lets anything go, just like everywhere.  I just don't think this is a situation where you rely on 'luck'.  Stick to the rules and you have no worries.

The immigration don't know when you bought your visa.

It's of no interest at all to the people who stick the stamp in but when you get to the Pasaport Polis desk you'll be surprised at just how much they DO know about you and your trips to a from Turkey.

A few years ago one of our friends lost her passport and was concerned about what would happen when she left Turkey because she'd be unable to show a visa stamp on the temporary passport issued by the British Consulate. She queried it at the Pasaport Polis office in Fethiye and they gave her a print-out of all her entries and exits over the past 10 years. Türk büyük kardeş.

I met two people last year who both bought a visa on their second visit within the 180 days because they didn't realise the first one was for 180 days and nobody stopped them or said anything.

I once bought a visa by mistake when it was still the 90 days one and after the guy put it in he said you already have a visa. I said oh can I have my £10 back? No was the answer so I had 2 valid visas at the same time.
Then last year I HAD to purchase a new one at Istanbul whilst the other one was still valid  and nothing was said.
I don't think they really care if you buy one before another runs out.
Doesn't answer your question though Scunner!

What do you think would happen?

I think technically the visa hasn't expired till the next day and therefore a new visa cannot be issued.

But what I actually think would happen is you'd get a new visa and nobody would be that bothered   :)
As I mentioned in another topic on residencey application, our neighbour purchased another visa with 7 days left on the old one. After a few phone calls the passport police in fethiye (they were applying for residencey) accepted it was not their fault and fined them 110tl. They said Dalaman should not have issued a new visa.

It used to be ,with the older system, if you came for two weeks and you only had one week on your visa, then they gave you another one.

As far as information is concerened, when I went for my residency last year, the first since 1999, they asked how my father ,Jack was and my Mother. That was at the Belidiya office. Many people employed to put the old paperwork details into the computer system.

We have some friends who came in on a 180 day visa on April 15th - they will return to the UK after Approx 25 days here.

They then return in early September until mid November.

So when the current 180 days runs out on Oct 15th - can they buy a new visa on entry in September (probably not) - go to passport polis to buy a new visa or do they have to leave the country for a couple of days and then return from say Rhodes etc and buy a new one on the way back into the country?

We thought our visa had run out so we brought another
One when we got passport stamp bit he scanned our passport and looked
For our last visa and stamped it and
Left the new visa unstamped which I am thinking starts
The next time we come to Turkey when it is then stamped ...
